On December 12, experts will gather in lectures, talks, debates and round tables to explore the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in solar greenhouses in southern Europe.
InVerdadero Congress returns to Almeria: a meeting for a sustainable future
The second edition of the InVerdadero Congress will be held on December 12 at the Auditorium of the University of Almeria (UAL) under the motto "The future is not fake, it's sustainable.". This event is part of the initiative 'It's Greenhouse. Sustainable Fruits and Vegetables from Europe'.co-financed by HORTIESPAÑA and the European Union within the framework of the agri-food program Enjoy, It's from Europe.
A space for debate and sustainability
From 9:00 am, producers, companies and consumers will meet to analyze the future of agriculture in solar greenhouses, with special attention to Artificial Intelligence (AI), digitalization and positive communication as key tools against fake news affecting the sector.
Green Revolution: the basis for sustainable production
The day will begin with a retrospective analysis led by key figures such as Jan van der Blom (COEXPHAL), José Manuel Escobar (LQA Thinking & Organic), Ricardo Fernández (Carrefour Spain) and José Miguel Ruiz (Covirán). The speakers will discuss how policies and regulations have consolidated a globally recognized production model.
Greenhouses of the future and possible dystopias
Experts such as Esteban Baeza (CIT COEX) and Antonio Giménez (OTRI UAL) will present current technologies applied in greenhouses, with emphasis on efficient water management and the use of solar energy. Roberto García (Cajamar) will present a disruptive reflection: What would the world be like without solar greenhouses?
Communication as a tool for change
The impact of social networks and positive communication will be analyzed by Fabián León (content creator), Ainhoa Diez (Maldita Ciencia), César Marcos (agri-food journalist) and Modesto Barragán (Andalucía Directo). Moderated by Nuria Martínez (Asociación 5 Al Día), they will discuss how to counteract the hoaxes that harm the sector.
An open and free event
The Congress will be inaugurated by José J. Céspedes (rector of the UAL), Manuel Gómez (Junta de Andalucía) and Juan Tomás Cano (HORTIESPAÑA). The closing speech will be given by Javier Aureliano García (Diputación de Almería). Attendance is free, prior registration at esdeinvernadero.es/en/inverdadero. Participants will receive gifts, enjoy a healthy breakfast and participate in raffles at the end of the day.
About the campaign
The initiative Esdeinvernadero.eswith a planned duration until February 2026 and a budget of 2 million euros, aims to promote sustainability in the agri-food sector. Aimed at companies, farmers, marketers and consumers, it seeks to promote responsible and safe practices in the production of fruit and vegetables.
